Course Description
Advanced Oil & Gas Production Technology: The Physical Well, Production Systems and Asset Performance Course
This intensive five-day programme provides participants with a practical understanding of the complete oil and gas production system—from reservoir and well design through surface processing, export systems, production optimisation, asset integrity, and digital operations. Participants will learn how hydrocarbons flow from the reservoir to the point of sale while gaining insight into the engineering, operational, safety, and commercial considerations that influence production performance. The programme incorporates current industry developments including digital oilfields, AI-enabled production surveillance, intelligent wells, flow assurance, energy transition initiatives, methane reduction, carbon management, and production system optimisation.
Course Objectives
• Understand the complete hydrocarbon production value chain from reservoir to export.
• Evaluate reservoir, well, completion, and artificial lift performance.
• Apply production optimisation and surveillance principles.
• Understand flow assurance challenges and mitigation strategies.
• Interpret production facilities, processing systems, and export infrastructure.
• Understand asset integrity, reliability, maintenance, and operational excellence principles.
• Apply well integrity and barrier management concepts.
• Evaluate offshore, subsea, and onshore production systems.
• Understand digital oilfield technologies, AI applications, and production analytics.
• Assess decarbonisation opportunities and environmental performance improvement initiatives.
